In today’s class, the students had the opportunity to venture into the world of traditional cooking and to participate together with experienced chefs in the process of roasting and peeling peppers for the preparation of ajvar. This activity allowed the students to learn about the preparation of ajvar, from picking peppers to roasting and peeling.
The students received peppers that they washed and prepared for baking. With the help of the chef, the peppers were roasted, during which the students could observe how the peppers are transformed and acquire a characteristic smell and taste. After the peppers were sufficiently roasted and cooled, the students carefully began the peeling process, and the chefs gave them advice on the most effective ways to peel the peppers.
This activity was extremely educational and fun for the children.
